Definition of Theater

Etymologically: Theater is the theater or auditorium. In a broad sense, the theater is all the spectacle that was shown in front of crowds. Theatre can also be interpreted as a drama, the story of life and human life as told on stage with the media: Conversations, motion and behavior based on a written script that is supported by the decor, music, songs, dances, etc..

Theatre (English "theater" or "theater", French "Théâtre" comes from the Greek "theatron", which means "place to watch") is a branch of the performing arts related to the acting / acting in front of an audience by using combination of words, gestures (body movements), expression, dolls, music, dance and others.

Bernard Beckerman, head of the drama department at Hofstra University, New York, in his book, Dynamics of Drama, defines the theater as "what happens when a man or more, isolated in a time / or space, present themselves to others." Theater can also take the form: opera, ballet, mime, kabuki, puppet shows, classical Indian dance, Kunqu, mummers play, improvisation and mime performance.
