In America even the emergence of the term with a more specific Job Description as a Stage Director, Floor Director, Floor Manager, Program Director, Event Coordinator, Event Manager, Festival Organizer, Network Director, etc..
This term is freely used by any institution (broadcast and non broadcast) in accordance with the purposes, functions and purposes. Interestingly though this term is confusing, but many are very clear job description, and not collide with each other I am trying to find answers about this from various reference books such as The Film Industry (by Fred Yager & Yager January / checkmark books), Basic Studio Directing (By Rod Fairweather / Focal Press) and This Business of Music Marketing & Promotion (by Lathrop) but there is no standard definition. Each events has a different job desc.

Program Director of the Steering Events are free to be translated! but should still be interpreted Event Director or Program Director. This is indeed chaotic, while the term is not termed a Floor Manager Floor Manager or Manager Tiles, but still uses the term Floor Manager .....
